What we collect
When you create an account, we store your email address and authentication credentials via Clerk. Payment information is processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
Recording data
All recording data — DOM snapshots, screen capture video, audio, screenshots, console errors, and network logs — is stored locally on your device in the .vedo/sessions/ directory. Recording data never leaves your machine unless you explicitly use the transcription feature, in which case audio is sent to our API for processing and immediately deleted after transcription.
Screen capture
Vedo uses the browser's getDisplayMedia API to capture your screen for screenshots and video recording. This requires your explicit permission via the browser's native prompt. All captured frames and video are stored locally and never transmitted to any server.
Audio transcription
When you use transcription, audio is transmitted to api.vedo.sh over HTTPS, transcribed using Deepgram or Whisper, and deleted immediately after processing. Only the text transcript is returned to your local machine.
What we don't do
We do not store your recordings, screenshots, video, or session data on any server. We do not run AI/LLM inference on your code or recordings. We do not sell or share your data with third parties. We do not track your usage beyond basic authentication and subscription status.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication only. No analytics or tracking cookies.
Third parties
Clerk — authentication and user management. Stripe — payment processing. Vercel — hosting. Deepgram / OpenAI Whisper — audio transcription (audio deleted after processing).
Data deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting support@vedo.sh. Local session data can be deleted by removing the .vedo/ directory from your projects.
